Patty Brown is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor who has over twenty years experience working as a psychotherapist. Patty specializes in treating young children, adolescents, adults and families who struggle with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, divorce, adoption, ADHD, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, eating disorders, behavioral difficulties and relational issues. Patty uses various techniques including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Family Systems, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Patty received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of North Texas and her Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has a wide variety of work experience, which results in a high level of skill in treating a multitude of concerns. A great deal of her experience involves working with children, teens and families. Additionally, she has experience working with children and adults who have developmental delays. With children, Patty utilizes play therapy skills to help children as young as three years old. She enjoys involving the parents and family members to help improve the child's behavior, increase coping mechanisms and enhance the child’s ability to regulate their emotions. Additionally, Patty works with couples in all stages of their relationships and is a Prepare and Enrich facilitator who is able to assist couples with increasing communication and strengthening the foundations of their relationship. Her approach is tailored to each individual and it is her desire to provide a supportive and empathic climate in order to support one’s desire to become more emotionally healthy, independent, and resilient.
